Brake pad warning in error
Recently bought a 2000 TT that needed a bit of TLC. Noticed the brake pad warning on the dash. Upon further investigation, all brake pads were almost new. From what I've learned, there is supposed to be a sensor on the left front pad that sends a signal to the computer. On my car, there isn't a cable for that or an output on the ABS system for one. This lead us to the instrument cluster. Seems that in 2000 a lot of these failed and were replaced with updated models that assumed the car had the necessary brake pad sensor. Since this car doesn't, it constantly registers a brake pad warning. I'd like to disable that function, since buying another instrument cluster seems like overkill for this problem. Any suggestions?
