Default Bov???

Hi all

i have just bought a BOV, for £15.54 from VAGPARTS.COM it's a BOSCH 710N
Its for my 2002 225Q, any body like to comment, i was going to purchase the forge fast road closed loop diverter valve, but at 8 times the cost and with no apparnat cons apart from the lifetime warranty i dont see any facts that prove HP difference of smoothergear changes or less lag issues.

Can anyone give me some advice, what should i do?

Thanks.

The stock bosche valve is ok, but wont last as long as a forge or other aftermarket valve as they are prone to breaking(due to a cardboard diaphram inside)...

If you plan on any future power upgrade, ie. remap etc you should really think of upgrading from the bosche as it probably wont handle the extra boost through it very long without braking on you and so in the long run you will be forking out again for another Bosche and so on ...

Hi T-Sport.
Thanks for your reply

Unfortunately i bought the BOV thinking it was an upgrade from the stock version, how wrong was i..... it's the same, so hence i am definately going to upgrade to a Forge version. There are so many out there, i want one to reduce lag (have lots!) smoothen the gear changes and to make a nice large dumping air noise!! i see you have a Forge DV, would you recommend this??

Thanks.

Well i took my finger out my ass and plumped for the ForgeRe-circulation and blow off valve, quite pricey but im hoping this should go some way to improving the turbo lag!

Yes the new Forge splitter valve is the way to go, unfortunately when i upgraded my valve a year ago they never had it on the market then...

Let us know what its like when you get it put on as i dont think any other of our members have one yet or certainly havent posted anything about it !!

Cheers T-sport

it performs nice, very nice and with the option of silent running it's a great buy!
not huge differences in lag, and the whoosh is not there at big boost, more of a group N che, che, che, che, che squeeky type noise, very hard to describe.
