Default How do I reset my air bag!?!

Hey guys,

I just bought my 00 Audi TT on monday. Joy! However I was detailing the inside today...cleaned it ...took the seats out...center console...etc. Anyways I put everything back in and I have a big fat red light that says " AIR BAG " now in my cluster. Anyone know how i can reset this without going to the stealer?

Thanks guys,

~Chris

they might just call and ask if they have a VAG-COM
most VW/AUDI specialist should have one

one option............... as AIRBAGS is classed at a major fault.... if you unplug the battery the light will still stay on...

your only option is to go onto VAG-COM and reset the code... --- now you have 2 options..... go to the dealer and pay their price for getting rid of the code.. OR buy a lead from ebay and download a copy of shareware VAG-COM and reset the codes yourself....
The only risk is....... if god for bid you was in a smash the air bags wont deploy with the light on as they are disabled...

i would get a copy of vag and a lead if i was u for future issues... its worth every penny as you can gett them from ebay for less than £20.. and a shareware version of vag is free...

where abouts are you as i have a copy??

I'm in south dakota. My question is what is this machine? ...is it hand held?...

I also noticed my cup holders (between my seats) there is a plug under a plastic cover... it looks almost like an ethernet plug... is this where they do the testing? ...or is this for a phone?

ross-tech can supply a free vag-com download for your lap top. the obd 2 plug (in your car) to usb 2 plug (on your lap top can be found on ebay. Both are great places.
