My 2000 TT had never let me down until yesterday.
Normal drive into work at 8:30, when I left at 5 it reluctantly turned over before firing up. I was 'downtown' for 4 hours before returning to the car to go home. The battery was dead in that even the windows were reluctant to move. A jump start got it going, good run home, lights ablaze (suggesting alternator OK??). Got home, stopped the engine, re-start straight away no problems. This morning, dead as the proverbial dodo. No lights had been left nor the radio. Has anyone else had a battery spontaneously die like this? The car is garaged and it hasn't been 'that' cold. |

It is not un known for a battery to go down like this
It has happened to me before with no signs that battery was going to die. How old is the battery in your car? If it is the original it has done well (5 years) .
