I just spen 3 hours trying to get my escort passport 8500 wired into the fuse panel of my 2002 TT. Not that it probably makes a difference but it is the American Le Mans edition. Anyway. The stupid thing wont work. I have tried it all. It works in the lighter socket but not at the fuse panel. What the heck could be causing this trouble?

Do any of you have an idea where a 12V wire or power source might be located, cause it doesnt look like i am going to be able to connect through the fuse panel?

PLEASE HELP ME

PS I have googled this to death. Other forums with links to sites with pictures, etc.. nothing has worked for me.

1) have you been grounding the detector when hooking it into the fuse panel?
2) there are 12V wires all over the car... alot of people tap into either the sunroof power wire (by the rear view mirror ... or the 12v cig. plug wire

Finally, I got it. I hadn't grounded it properly. Once I found a bolt that was grounded, everything worked fine. Thanks for the help!
