Diverter Valve...what Is It?

Ok stupid question. What is the diverter valve and how is it different than a blow off valve? Then of course which is better? I love the sound of a blow off valve, nothing sounds cooler than hearing a car go buy and when it downshifts you can here the access pressure being released. I would love to install one on my ride, which brings up another question...Can I?

blow off valves release the excess air into the atmosphere. diverter valves put a majority of the air back into the air system of the car ... its a bit more efficeint.

WOW. I had no idea. New to the Audi scene and learning new stuff everyday. So no BOV here. Guess I will just upgrade the DV. Dont want to piss off any die-hards now do we.
