I have a weird one. Since I have had my car, the fuel gauge has been over-reading. I actually ran out of fuel (something that I never let happen) the one time, when the guage was in the red just under the 1/8 empty mark. Any ideas on if this is user serviceable or needs replacement. I dont know the mechanism that the guages work on and figure it is simply a floatation device. It cant be sticking though, since it does drop with the level. Do the guages need calibration? I have never seen this on any car before. |

Kelvin-
We have had three sending units installed on our TT before things settled down. The dealer just kept replacing them and telling us the sending unit was bad. The fourth one was the charm. Unlike your description, ours showed wild swings in fuel on board. One minute it showed full, the next minute it was empty. This happened with all sending units until the fourth and "good" one was installed. Sorry I couldn't give you more help but that's our tale. God luck! |

Hey BeechSierra, thanks for the feedback, it is interesting to at least know some of the problems other folks are experiencing. I have a service coming up soon and will get them to check it. I hope I dont have to go through four units before they get it right. I am still hoping it is something that can just be calibrated. |
