Ok Guys, Im back from the Revo Software test install.....where to begin. First of all, it took 15 minutes and only required them hooking up their laptop to my car and changing the stock settings.....they said the PSI spikes at 21-24......I felt great power increases in 1st gear and 2nd gear, I mean I was pulling hard. Once I hit 3rd gear and on it felt better, but didnt have the pull that 1st and 2nd had (Still, any power increase is great right?) Just for good measure I had my buddy who owns an 04 M3, he said that the pulls in 1st and 2nd gear were impressive, now this could have just been him not wanting me to feel bad that I was driving a much much much slower car than him, but he seemed genuine in his remarks.

So now this is where the problem lay. I WAS RACING EVERYTHING I COULD FIND!!! Clearly this could be a problem. My first Victim was a 1999 Nissan 240ZX with performance upgrades (Exhaust and CAI was all I could see and hear) I had him from every point of the race, no chance of beating me. Second race was a brand spanking new Infiniti G35, I kept saying that there was no way I could take it, my buddy said that I had a much better chance than I was giving myself, so the race was on. Pulled up next to the G35 which of course was being driven by some 20-something year old kid with chrome 19's......we were going about 60 on the highway and started the race. He was first to hit the gas, and out acclerated me by about half a car length, I was in 3rd gear at 60MPH and only ran it up to about 6500 RPMS before dumping into 4th gear, I didnt beat the G35 but I literally hung on his bumper (about 2 feet off bumper) until about 115 and decided to pull off due to upcoming traffic.

In conclusion, I think this software is amazing, it is simple, it is quick to install with NO removal of ECU's or harsh mechanical work on the car.....But I think Im going to pass on it for right now, Im too nervous that with all of this new HP and Tourque I will feel the need to prove all of the doubters of the TT wrong. So I am going to instead do a great Cat Back Exhaust with Dual tips and the new 3.2 TT rear valence and some very classy 18 inch wheels with a 3 inch lip......lets face the facts, Im not a race car driver and I dont have a death wish. But I do like the way the ladies flock to a well maintaned and hooked up TT, not to mention the respect a nice set or rims and great exhaust can command.

P.S. I think my 5 hour software test ran out around 8:00 PM tonight and now I hit the gas and i feel a major lag and sputtering......What the hell is that all about?

...My car was running fine up until I installed that Revo Software and the 5 hour test ended. Do you think maybe the ammount of boost I was running with the software hurt my new D/V???...

I cant imagine that the software did anything to your D/V that it could not handle from the increase performance. If anything it could only have helped. I hope it is alot more robust than that. If you had the standard OEM D/V in then perhaps.
I am no expert on this but I am figuring that when the upgrade reverted back to the standard settings, the computer has gone through a bit of an adjustment problem. Best to speak with the Revo guys about it!

Well it sounds like you had a blast with your demo burn. I can now say that I have honestly beat a Subaru WRX (not sti) and a Benze C230 sports sedan. I've run the car as fast as 130 and felt great! In responce to your D/V. My d/v did go out right after the burn. My guess is that it was weak anyway and it was the original d/v from the factory. I replaced it with a $35.00 bosh unit just like OEM. IF you car has not straightened out then you may need to consult REVO. FWIW after my demo burn my car had no problems reverting back to stock.

when you had this revo did they roaling road it as this is the only way it should be put in to show any early faults that the upgrade will make more obvious.

Thanks guys for the advice and ideas......I highly doubt that it is my Diverter Valve now (I recently upgraded to the Hyperboost HX Diverter Valve which can easily handle boosts that I was running).....it appears that I might have either blown the coil packs or blown my turbo, I spoke to the Revo guy and he said that most likely it isnt the turbo and is the Coil Packs, im taking it to the dealership for a quick check up to make sure, better to be safe than sorry......although this morning it was still stuttering and tonight everything apears to be firing correctly....who the heck knows.....perhaps the software needed a full day to recover.

That feeling of beating the C230 Sport must have been nice but beating a Subaru WRX would have topped it for me! Ill have to settle for a 240ZX and hanging with the G35 coupe.

Went to Miami for the software upgrade and then went out for drinks at a club in South Beach.....Parked nicely on the curb in front of a very high end restaurant was the new Porsche Carrera GT (Bright Yellow) It was truly a remarkable vehicle. Cant see spending $440K on a car though....but if you can afford that, money is most likely of no concern to you.

Man I'm not sure what in heck happened with your car. I'll be interesed to know what the dealer says tomorrow. Coil packs now that would be interesting. I'm looking at upgrading my ignition with the plasma system from "Ignition Solutions". If you packs are bad you might look into them for a replacement. Here's their website.

30 HP and about 35 ft lbs of torque.....mighty fine gains if you ask me.....$499.00 for all that power!

hey tt1.8L, I wont be brining it into the shop until next Monday, if at all now.....for some reason the car is running as usual now....I really think because of the fuel map adjustments that the REVO Software makes to your system the ECU needed time to revert back to the original settings, causing this stuttering or "Failed Coil Pack" effect......Makes sense. Ill keep you posted though.

sounds good.

Just got word back from the folks at revo and they are claiming hp increase from 225 to 260, and torque from 207 to 284. Pretty substantial.

I think I may have to give it a go.
