I'm a newbie to the Audi, and love the look but don't know too much about how they handle when they get into the higher miles. I would appreciate hearing any opinions, suggestions, comments from you experienced Audi lovers please! Would you purchase a 2000 Audi Tt with 59,000 miles? Will it depreciate too quickly?

Hi. I'm new here as well. A lot of people may disagree with me...

When my 2000 TT hit 52,000 my battery literally exploded, the type you hear for blocks, causing a lot of damage. This was caused by some type of spark when I used my key to unlock the door. At 87,000 the pistons went threw the block (?) due to a faulty part. I replaced the engine which was very expensive. This is among many other problems over the years.

At this point I have replaced the transmission, control panel, fuel pump, blower motor and still.... the car bogs down when I shift, none of my gauges work, my sensors are always going off for no reason and get this...when I hit my brakes the front parking lights flash, the reverse lights come on, the blinkers turn off and the radio statics out...no brake lights either. Yes, it's been fixed many times.

Wish I could say I have the bad apple but the fact is, I have a friend with a 2000 TT who has IDENTICAL problems! Can't be a coincidence! He is in the process of installing a new engine now.

I am new to Audi as well and have been looking / test driving 2002 TT Quattros. Not sure what I will purchase, but I will not go below the 2002 production year.

As a rule of thumb, I never suggest buying the 1st two productions years (sometimes wait until the 3rd production year), of any new / used vehicles. It takes two to three production years to get the car right. Re-engineering and customer feedback settles the problems and by then you get a new body design with a bettre running car.

New here also. I have a 2001 TTQR 225. No problems but I have 30,000 miles on her. This will be going up now that I use it as my daily driver. I have heard good things about Audi longevity. Mine seems to be holding up pretty good so far.

we have a 01 TTQ 225hp with 61k and it runs perfect - very very low maintenance - we have other friends with 2000 and 2002 TT 180hp and they area also very happy with their cars. one of them has close to 80k on it. problems listed can not be the norm.
