I'm new to the forum and this is my very first post. I just bought a 2001 Audi TT and everything checks out fin on the car except that the windshield washer fluid leaks and the car keeps giving me the warning about the windshield washer fluid being empty.

The Audi Dealer here checked out the car and said that the washer pump might have a leak and needs replaced, but he wanted to charge me $400 to do it. I did some research and it looks like the part only costs $25-$30 tops. Has anyone ever had this probleem and fixed it themselves, or am I going to have to bite the bullet and need to pay someone to replace it? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

On a lighter note, I absolutely LOVE this car!
Yep, mee too - love the carrito, but am having several nagging issues like this...

You have to remove the driver's front wheel, remove the inner fender well (6-10 screws), and then take out the one (or is it two?) bolts that hold in the wiper fluid tank. The washer pump is at the bottom of the tank. I'd take off the washer pump and take it to your auto parts store to match it up b/c after-market ones differ slightly. You can also just order the exact replacement from Audi, which, although more expensive, will likely save you the hassle of having to do this again. Be sure and lube the o-ring when you replace it with whatever the directions say - not doing so will make it leak again before it's time. It's not hard, but enough of a PITA that you won't want to keep doing it
