I love my allroad but.......The adjustable suspension is an amazing feature, but......
There is nothing worse than coming out to start your car in 20F temps and see one side or the entire front end collapsed. There is nothing more frustrating than hearing the compressor come on every few minutes then see a warning light on the dash because the front end lost pressure while driving. Pullover on the side of the road, say a prayer and lift up on the downed corner to coax it back up. All while standing in a snow drift in a pair of Bruno Maglis' with a suit and tie.

The Fix:

I live in the Northeast and have had enough cars in my 42 years to know that you never change just one in a pair of anything. $1600 to change both front corners and another 1k for a compressor. I was not liking plan "A".
Plan B- 2Bennet makes a coilover conversion. We own a Durango with a Hemi so I did not need the allroad to be our SUV. I ordered the Swap from 2Bennet.

The 2Bennett guys were very helpful. They asked how stiff I wanted the springs and what kind of driving I was doing with the allroad. I let them know that I drive very spirited when the 3 carseats in the back are not filled. The coilover kit came with exact and explicit directions. My independent garage had no issues with the directions. Installation was delayed with the lack of anit-seize on factory installed parts.
Finished product rocks! I had my Indie garage set the springs at a few mm lower than the lowest setting on the factory springs. Wow! The cornering is tight. No nose dive on hard braking. Lane changes at highway spreeds are precise.
If you don't need the adjustable suspension and want reliability, seriously concider this option.
This crap is addictive. I had them do a Revo Technik Map after the 100K waterpump, timing belt change. Non turbo porches' fear me, 'vette drivers stay in the middle lane and dare not challenge. Damn this allroad is one hell of a sleeper and I can't wait to put the Cat back system on it.
