..I apologize for any inaccuracies, now that you remind me, it is NOT a socket, which I at first glance thought it would be!!
& NO; you don't need a special tool. (but I don't recall whether I used a 'star' socket, or 'allen-key' style socket, because I own both, in my socket set!! ..sorry for forgetting to tell you, mate!)
But I did use a miniature socket set with all of the extensions it had, & taped the head with electrical tape, because of no magnet!
Miniature socket sets are very cheap to buy, from your Clearance, or Reject Shop type of place.
But you will find, that you will use your 'miniature socket set' with all of the patterns ('star' & 'allen-key') on your car regularly, so maybe an investment in a more solid set could very well be a good investment. But a cheap set should get you out of trouble, if you decide to go that way.
Ooh! ..& you will need WD40, in case it wont budge, like in my case.
