Special Tool
Yes. The tool rotates the cylinder...
The tool worked... with much effort on the passenger side (see picture in previous post). The passenger side took about 2 hours of turning, cleaning the piston and drenching it with penerating oil and turning again. The piston would only move about a 1/4 turn every 15 minutes or so until it was almost completely retracted. The last rotation was the only full turn that was what I would call 'easy'. During all of this the hand brake is off and the master cylinder cap is removed.
Now I am looking at the car, 1/2 completed and the caliper on the driver won't move at all...even with the most aggressive pushing and prodding. It simply won't move...even when stepping on the brake...it doesn't move out.
Any tricks or suggestions on how to get the cylinder moving with the special tool? ...or do you have a link to a tech article on replacing the caliper. Any advice would be great. Patrick
