Some help needed
hey all my name is will and im new to here, i dont own an audi a3 but have a mate who does and he needs a bit of help, he has a a3 1.8 20v non turbo and we think that his cambelt has snapped, he came round a corner with the clutch dipped and then went round and raised the clutch and it completely died, he tried to turn it over like you do to start it and it was turning over very fast like there is no compression, thus us thinking if it is cambelt, now my questions are is the engine failsafe and if not what sort of money would he be looking at as obviously if it isnt valves would of hit pistons, thanks for any help.
