Hum/buzz sound from rear - ideas?
I have an 04 A4 1.8T (non-quattro). Just recently a humming/buzzing sound has emerged. The sound reveals itself at idle or low speeds (under 10mph) after that I either can not hear it due to the engine or it goes away. Anyway, when I apply the brake it does not go away or start, when I select a different gear it also does not go away or start - and that was the extent of my trouble shooting.
I checked closely to be sure the sound was coming from the rear. It also doesn't seem to be exhaust related.
This may be a lousy description of the problem, but has anyone experienced anything similar or could anyone offer their insights?
