You could upgrade the phone module and make some wiring changes to get the SAP profile phone system and this would give you text messages on your MMI and it would do away with the need for a cradle for your Nokia.
Purely bluetooth, but the car is making the calls, not your phone, so the battery of the phone is not drained and the signal strength is based on the car antenna.
