throttle wide open @speed

Hey guys,
I am new to this forum and I am looking for some input on a serious issue that has developed with my 2005 A4 1.8T tiptronic.
Driving @ speed ,decide to pass a slower motorist, initiate kick down, throttle sticks WIDE OPEN, Tiptronic goes into safe mode,did not panic, got off road, shut "Christine" off, waited a few minutes, restared the car and you would never know anything was ever wrong..................any ideas??
Could be very DANGEROUS.........I have only had this fault occur twice in seven months. TWO is too many!! OBD is not coding the fault
