Default CVT Scheduled maintenence item

This is related to my earlier post. After reading more on the boards, there seems to be the idea that Audi is now reccomending a transmission oil/fluid and filter changes at intervals of either 20k or 40k, depending upon whom you choose to believe. Does anyone know if this is an official Audi reccomendation, or a dealer suggestion? The reasoning behind my question is if Audi offically reccomended this practice, and I fulfilled my all of my scheduled maintenence at an Audi dealer, and this service was not performed by the dealer - then why do I now have to pay for this service when the car is out of warranty when it should have been performed at least once during scheduled maintenence covered under the new car warranty?

Thanks for you input,
