3. Looks like he did not follow the re-syncing procedure properly. I read some more info on 12v.com and he is going to try the method they have listed to see if it works.
4. Found the problem. The tensioner cracked, its laying forward of the engine. Thus the belt slipped off and none of the accessories were working.
So it looks like we need to pick up a new Accessory Belt Tensioner. I looked one up online real quick and found this -

Is that the going price, or can I get this part cheaper elsewhere. And from some reading on 12v.com - it looks like it is simply removed with a
10mm allen wrench/socket - is this correct for his car?
