It could be some wiring, did you clear the code and see how long till it came back? I'm guessing wiring as I really doubt another one went bad in 1 year. Do you know from the code whether it's the pre or post sensor? Something may be shredding the wire between there, but the mechanic should have seen that when he pulled the first one.
