Hi all, and thank you for welcoming me to your group.

I recently purchased an Oct 2006 (56 plate) Audi Q7 S-Line 3.0 TDI in Mugello Blue. I absolutely love the car but I am being out-foxed by my so called Advanced Key. Basically, it has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it won't allow me to unlock or lock the car the conventional way, with the button on the key. Other times it will not lock by pressing the lock button on the exterior handle. It can take me up to 5 minutes to lock/unlock the car! - Not so much an Advanced key but a retarded key?

I had it back in to the dealer yesterday, but as is the way with intermittent faults, it refused to act faulty. I had read in another thread somewhere that there was a software upgrade for this key, but when I mentioned this to my dealer he just looked at me as though I was speaking Russian. He gave me the dreaded line.... just keep an eye on it.

Anybody who has experienced similar problems, or knows of such issues, please shout up.

Incidentally, I changed to the spare key...Same problem and replaced the battery.

I am also running the latest 42** MMI Software
