Hi John,
It has been costly. I spend a lot of money (about 2500€) with little to no result. I switched Audi dealers, because the 1st dealership said "I hope we can fix it"...

I replied "where should I go to if you guys can't fix it. They (the 1st dealer) stated (another guess) that it might be the petrol filter. Luckely this filter is located in the petroltank, so it would take a lot of effort (money) to clean it.
When I went to my 2nd dealership they, after replacing the noksensor because it was giving a message in the log..., finaly opened up the engine an quickly found out the tubler was missing, so 2 valves where not functioning. This took them almost a year! Then they stated there was a lot of dammage on the camshaft! NO KIDDING! I have been driving with a missing tumbler for almost a year. Then they adviced a replacement engine. Costs unknown.
I totally lost faith in the audi dealer. I am actualy looking for a different car. I don't think that these problems are normal for an Audi, but maybe a fist generation fsi engine is to much of a gamble.
