Sorry reply might be a bit late by now, but you should look out for suspension problems, mainly springs and shocks, check clutch as people tend to over adjust them and you end up with whining noise, also release bearing is prone to whining. Make sure it's been run on good oil and regularly changed as the 16v are very dependant on good oil circulation. Make sure it hasn't been stood about long, the pumps on all Audi's are crap, fuel pump, steering pump etc, make sure oil pump is OK. Apart from that the 16v coupe is brilliant car, great value for money and suits everyones taste.
