A4 Auto boot
My previous 05 A4 was fitted with the auto boot function. My current 07 A4 is not.
I have found the function useful and wanted to fit it to my current 07 model.
It would seem that the auto function is just down to the fitting of the two boot lid gas struts, that are fitted with the pre-tensioned coil spring versions, so that when you use the key-fob to open the boot it should open automatically as a result of the spring tension in the struts?
However, after fitting the two pre-tensioned coil spring versions struts the boot fails to open automatically.
What have I missed? It it more than just the gas that are required.
Can anybody help?
