Thanks Roley, you're quite right. I mixed up the fact that the RAC membership lapses after 2 years, according to my warranty book. However, my local dealer thought the same as me and quoted me for a third year! I didn't buy, as I might have moments of stupidity, but they don't extend to the lock on my wallet.
