Hi.
Unfortunately it seems to be a hit or a miss with DSG.
Some people have experienced the car "juddering" at slow speeds, especially when slowing down at junctions etc. but others, like mine, have just had the Mechatronic Control Module die.
If the car you are going to buy is over 3 years old (i.e. no warranty left) then it might be worthwhile taking out a 3rd party warranty, but make sure it covers the transmission.
Incidentally, someone has written in to Honest John at the Telegraph with DSG issues which the dealer has tried to blame on oil needing changed.
Personally, I think it's the start of DSG failure.

1) Is there any way to know or check if a cars got a DSG problem before I purchase.
2) Also are there any other known faults/niggles etc that I should check for.
3)There's one at a dealer up the road from me for £13K with 72,000 miles - sounds reasonable to me what do you guys think.
thanks in advance
