Yes, my 2002 A6 3.0 Quattro had the tensioner/belt failed last Friday at a traffic light. It was real scary because I cannot steer or move the car. It has 66k on the odo. I'm looking at terrible choices:
$4k for repair of valves/pistons and related parts; or
$7k for replacing with used (2004 A6 with 50k) engine; or
$12k for replacing with rebuilt engine.
What did you do? I'm thinking of writing to Audi of America to see if they will bear the cost partially.
