And me! Independent gearbox specialist says it is the range sensor inside the gearbox and comes as part of the ECU. It gradually becomes more frequent but is really a fault in the sensor circuits and not a fault that affects the box working when display goes back to normal. Cost to fix over £1K! Still not decided what to do.
Tell if fluid low if drive does not come in within two seconds when cold after moving to D. Popssibly gets better when box hot and oil expands.
