The oil sensor has three wires.Ignition live,earth and the signal to the dash.If you have 12 volts and earth then i think you may need to scope the signal wire.if there is no high resistance or shorts to posotive/earth i would disconnect the dash insert and the sensor overnight and retry.The bonnet switch signals to the convience control unit.Any way thats enough of that twaddle.disconnect the dash and the sender and see what happens.You could disconnect the battery but you will lose your radio code and engine basic settings and remote fob memory.They are a pain in the arse but vag com would help to establish if the bonnet is closed and any codes in the dash or engine control unit.
