just to add to the body of knowledge here

a6 was in with dealer today and the computer logged 2 incidents of the fault thankfully

it needs to be hooked up to a diagonostic machine to further illuminate which apperently is very expensive and my dealer has requested a loan of the machine from audi ireland

the mechanics thoughts on it are that it is a loose /faulty connection along ther line that is preventing infomation been relayed on the gateway and if the info is out of synch and not relayed to computer instantly it will trigger the fault

the parking brake itself is fine so at least now i can park safely without the aid of a concrete block behind the wheel

hopefully they will get the diagnostic machine soon and i will further update the forum
