Ya, I've done this with my 5000. Under the hood, locate the fuse box. Open the fuse box up and you should see a relay where you can stick a fuse in on the top. This is the fuel pump relay. When you put the fuse in the relay this bridges the contacts and starts the check engine light sequence. There is a great site with a write up on the steps. It will tell you how the sequence works with all the blinking and what not, so check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
