Default B6 1.9 TDi ECU remapping

This post isn't about what or how... there's plenty of info around these pages on that. What I want to know is what it's like actually living with a tuned TDi?

One of the primary reasons for me purchasing the car was the balance of performance and economy - I regularly get over 50mpg and rarely cane it but its good to know that the power is there for overtaking and the to make sure I get off from the lights first ;-)

I've read that after remapping or chipping there can be gains in economy as the increase in torque allows quicker gear changes but does this actually happen in the real world?

The other thing is that the A4 is due to be the only car in the household which means that reliability should not be compromised!

Also, I assue that the increase in torque and BHP only really manifests itself and possibly strains the car when you accelerate fully?
