With difficulty I think. The Bowden cable goes into the regulator body and is wound around a spiral drum. The ends have nipples on that engage in cutouts in the drum. The motor has a worm drive on it that rotates the drum. I think that the whole regulator comes as a spare not just the motor. If you can get the motor then the old motor can be extracted with the worm on the end (after pulling a bearing off the other end if my memory serves me right) to be replaced by the new one.
I tried making new cables (out of bicycle brake cables) and it was a very frustrating business I must say.
